Progression in English

To ensure progression of all pupils, teachers use Lancashire progression documents, 'Key Learning in Reading,' 'Key Learning in Writing' and 'Key Learning in EYFS for CLL,' to plan for teaching and learning. Teachers also use Lancashire document; 'Key Learning in Reading and Writing Linked to Key Stage 1 and 2 Assessment Expectations in Reading and Writing KS1 and KS2' to support planning for teaching and learning. Other documents including,' Learning and Progression Steps, ' in reading and writing are used to plan for smaller steps of progression throughout the year. Teachers use the Lancashire progression document in spoken language to ensure progression in speaking and listening and the progression document in spelling.
