Mrs Finch's Blog 29/6/20

Date: 28th Jun 2020 @ 11:25am

With only three weeks to go until the end of term it feels like forever since we’ve all been together.  Normally, at this time of year, school would be buzzing with activity and it’s very strange not to be celebrating the end of the school year together.   For those in Scorpions, don’t worry, as I said last week, we’ll definitely sort a special send off for you when we can all be back together again.

I’m sure that many of you will be curious who your teachers will be next year so I thought I’d let you know in this week’s blog!

At the minute we are not totally sure how we will be allowed to use our teaching assistants so there may be some change in how PPA and intervention classes will be taught.   Again, once we have clear guidelines from the government I will be able to confirm these details.

The school year will end on Friday 17th July.  Monday 20th July will now be an INSET day to allow for a deep clean throughout school.  This INSET day is replacing the ones at the beginning of June when school was open to key worker children.

The plan is that we will reopen to all children in Year 1-6 on Tuesday 1st September, however as I have mentioned previously we are not sure exactly what this will look like but we will let you know as soon as we can.  Our new Reception children will be starting a bit later and I sent out details for their induction sessions last week.

I think the hardest part in all this is the not knowing, I shall be watching with curiosity how the reopening of certain services pans out and how people react to the changes that are having to be put in place.  I do think it is time to be begin the gradual opening up of the country again and I hope and pray that it is done in a safe and sensible way.

As always, take care and stay safe and please do get in touch if you need anything.
