Well here we are again, yet this week seems just that little bit different. Listening to the Prime Minister speak last night, the enormity of this whole situation really did strike me. Press conferences via video link, speakers standing 2 metres apart as they addressed the nation, talk of the importance of the public abiding by the rules and still not seeing a full house in parliament. Then in the middle of all that confirmation that schools will reopen on 1st June. To me it's crazy, I still can't quite believe the decisions that we, as parents, are being asked to make. Once again I want to re-iterate that we will support all parents decisions on what they want to do regarding sending children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 back in to school mid-way through next week. School is going to look very different, it's going to be so hard to carry on as normal with so many restrictions in place.
We still have a week in which, no doubt, more announcements will be made regarding the re-opening and I hope with all my strength that the outcome is different. In the meantime, hopefully you will all have had time to read the initial reopening plan, things are bound to change from that plan as we anticipate a very small number of children returning to school. If you haven't confirmed that you will be sending your child to school, then please do so as soon as possible. Once numbers are finalised I can then publish a definite plan. I know a few people have emailed me asking a couple of questions, I will get back to you by the end of play tomorrow. I've had a couple of 'no work' days so that I could spend some quality time with my two children but I will be back answering emails and messages as from tomorrow.
This week's task is simple, relax, enjoy the glorious weather that has been forecast and most importantly stay safe.
Take Care
