Well here we are again in another national lockdown.  I feel it's made a bit easier this time as thankfully schools have remained open.  It is so important for children to remain in school, in terms of both their academic progress and their mental health.  It's so hard for children (and indeed adults) to understand why they can't play out with their friends, why they can't pop to someones house for tea or have a sleepover with members of their wider family.  Unfortunately, this is the situation we find ourselves in. I know it's hard but if we want to be able to spend time with family and friends at Christmas then we really need to follow the rules.

For us in school, on a day to day basis, very little will change.  The classes are split in to bubbles and the staff stay within their own bubble.  There are areas of school which have restrictions as to how many people can use them at any one time and some areas are off limits to different bubbles.  The children have been amazing at following our new rules and I am so proud of how they are taking everything in their stride.

To support us with this it is so important that parents do their bit too.  This means limiting the number of people picking children up to only one adult (obviously if you have younger siblings then you can still bring them with you.) For those using high school siblings for pick ups can you please remind them not to bring their friends with them.  Wearing a face mask whenever you are on school premises is still in place - a lot of parents are gathered together in a relatively small space so this helps reduce risk.  Finally, please remember to only use your bubbles entrance and not cross into another bubble.

We've got 6 weeks left to get this right before we finish for Christmas, even if government restrictions aren't lifted then let's make sure we keep all our bubbles open and in school until then.

Take care and stay safe,

Mrs F x
