St Aidan's CE Primary School will close after school on Friday 20th March until further notice, as instructed by the Government.
CHILDREN ATTENDING SCHOOL
The government guidance posted late last night will be followed and a list of eligible children will be compiled by myself and Mrs Mitchell - on a needs led basis.
Places will be offered following the guidance and information from parents recorded yesterday. The health advice is to have less than 20% of the school population in. This is to follow the social distancing model and to keep the spread of Covid19 limited.
**SCHOOL WILL ONLY ACCEPT THOSE WHO ABSOLUTELY NEED CARE**
Please consider the implications for school staff. As a headteacher, I have to consider the safety of staff and their own health plus the health of their families. If you are offered a place but DO NOT require it as you can find care elsewhere then please follow the health guidance and do so.
Please, therefore, follow these key principles:
1. If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be.
2. If a child needs specialist support, is vulnerable or has a parent who is a critical worker, then educational provision will be available for them.
3. Parents should not rely for childcare upon those who are advised to be in the stringent social distancing category such as grandparents, friends, or family members with underlying conditions.
4. Parents should also do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue to spread the virus. They should observe the same social distancing principles as adults.
As always thank you for your support, take care, stay safe and we will get through this
